Key facts

Choosing the right type
Acrylic dentures are the most economical and the easiest to add to if you lose further teeth, which makes them a sensible first denture. Chrome dentures use a slim cast metal framework: thinner, stronger, less bulky against the palate and generally more comfortable to wear long term.
Flexible dentures use a resilient nylon-type material with no metal clasps, which some patients find more comfortable and more discreet, particularly for small partial dentures at the front.
Getting the fit right
A denture is built over several appointments — impressions, bite registration, a try-in in wax so you can approve the tooth position and shade, then the finished fit. Skipping stages produces dentures people never wear.
Expect a settling-in period. Minor adjustments in the first weeks are normal and included in your care, not a sign that something has gone wrong.
Implant-stabilised options
If a lower full denture will not stay put, implants can be used to retain it. Two implants can transform stability for eating and speaking. Implant assessment is £100 and we will explain honestly whether you are a suitable candidate.
Common questions
Dentures: your questions answered
How much do dentures cost in Wolverhampton?
Acrylic dentures start from £670 (partial) and £770 (full), chrome from £790 (partial) and £890 (full), and flexible from £790. Plan members receive 10% off. Repairs start at £110.
How long does it take to get used to dentures?
Usually a few weeks. Speech and eating feel odd at first and improve with practice. Come back for adjustments if any spot rubs — you should not persevere with a sore area.
Can you repair a broken denture?
Yes, in most cases. Denture repairs start at £110. Bring all the pieces and do not attempt to glue it yourself, as household adhesives make a professional repair harder.
